Osos de Monterrey (Monterrey Bears), originally founded as the Fundidores de Monterrey (Monterrey Smelters), were established in September 2016 as part of the LFA's northern expansion ahead of the 2017 season.

Overcoming early challenges, the team made history in 2022 by capturing their first and only championship title. They continued to excel in 2023 and 2024, advancing to the semi-finals in back-to-back seasons.

Renowned for their explosive, high-powered offense, Monterrey football has solidified itself as a dominant force in the LFA, maintaining the league's #1 offense for three consecutive seasons.

In 2025, Former NFL All-Pro Ryan Kalil and NBA All-Star Blake Griffin, along with a group of prominent athletes, acquired the team and rebranded it Osos Monterrey.
